2023/2024 ADMISSION PROCESS

                                      THE FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC, ILARO OGUN STATE

2023/2024 NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) FULL-TIME POST UTME SCREENING AND VALIDATION OF CREDENTIALS EXERCISE

                                                                             AND

2023/2024 ADMISSION INTO HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) FULL-TIME, NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) PART-TIME AND HND & ND OPEN DISTANCE & FLEXIBLE E-LEARNING (ODFEL) PROGRAMMES

PART A

1.0         POST UTME SCREENING AND VALIDATION OF CREDENTIALS EXERCISE

Application for Screening and Validation of credentials is hereby requested from interested candidates who wrote the 2023/2024 UTME and made The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro their 1st Choice or are willing to change to Ilaro as their 1st Choice Institution.

1.1        ELIGIBILITY

  1. Candidates who chose The Federal Polytechnic Ilaro as their 1st choice and whose score is not below 150 in the 2023 UTME.
  2. Candidates who did not choose The Federal Polytechnic Ilaro but are ready and able to effect a change of Institution to make The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro their First Choice Institution.3.
  3. Candidates who complete the Screening Form Online following the procedure in (1.4) below:

1.2        METHOD OF APPLICATION

Candidates seeking admission into The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro are required to complete the Institution’s Form available online at: www.federalpolyilaro.edu.ng   with effect from Monday, 10th July, 2023

1.3        PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING THE ONLINE SCREENING FORM

Candidates seeking admission for ND (Full-Time) are expected to generate a Screening Form Invoice by filling in their details online on the Institution’s Website: www.federalpolyilaro.edu.ng

Each candidate is expected to pay a sum of Two Thousand Naira only (N2, 000.00) as a Processing Fee.

1.4     Instructions to Candidates

  1.          Log on to www.federalpolyilaro.edu.ng
  2. Click on "Portal " on the main menu
  3. Scroll down to "New Application"
  4. Click on the "Generate Invoice" button
  5. To generate your invoice fill in your Name and other details (as you have them on your credentials) and select your programme of study.
  6. Proceed to the Bank with the invoice generated.  Pay at the Bank and obtain RRR NUMBER
  7. Return to the Portal, repeat steps 1-3 above and click on the "Fill Application Form" button
  8. Enter the RRR NUMBER obtained from the Bank
  9. Complete the Application Form.
  10. Scan and Upload the following :
    1. UTME notification of result slip
    2. O’Level Result(s) for candidates who are not awaiting their result(s).
    3. All Awaiting Result candidates should indicate their year of Examination and Registration Number and put (AR) in the columns provided for this purpose. They should however upload their results when available.
  11. Confirm and submit. Print a copy of the Acknowledgement Slip

PART B

2.0 HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) FULL-TIME PROGRAMMES – 2023/2024 SESSION             

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro for Full-Time Programmes leading to the award of Higher National Diploma (HND) qualification for Programmes in the following Schools:

SCHOOL OF AGRICULTURAL TECHNOLOGY:

Departments: Agricultural Extension & Management, Animal Production Technology and Crop Production Technology,

SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY: 

Departments: Library & Information Science, Mass Communication & Office Technology and Management (Secretarial Studies).

SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING:  

Departments: Agricultural & Bio-Environmental Engineering Technology, Civil   Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering with options in: (i) Electrical Power and Machines, (ii) Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering, (iii) Instrumentation and Control. Mechanical Engineering with options in: (i) Plant and Power Engineering Technology, (ii) Manufacturing Engineering Technology (iii) Automotive Engineering Technology.

SCHOOL OF ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES: 

Departments:  Architectural Technology, Arts & Design with options in (i) Painting (ii) Sculpture (iii) Textile (iv) Ceramics, Building Technology, Estate Management and Valuation, Quantity Surveying, Surveying and Geoinformatics, Urban and Regional Planning.

SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES: 

Departments:  Accountancy, Banking and Finance, Business Administration and Management, Insurance, Marketing, Public Administration and Taxation.

SCHOOL OF PURE AND APPLIED SCIENCES: 

Departments:  Computer Science, Food Technology, Hospitality Management (Hotel and Catering Management), Nutrition and Dietetics, Statistics, Science Laboratory Technology with options in: (i) Chemistry (ii) Physics with Electronics     (iii) Environmental Biology (iv) Microbiology (v) Biochemistry, Tourism Management Technology.

Duration of all programmes:  4 Semesters (Full-Time) 2 Academic Sessions

PART C

3.0 HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) OPEN DISTANCE & FLEXIBLE E-LEARNING (ODFEL) PROGRAMMES 2023/2024 SESSION        

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro for Open Distance & Flexible E-Learning (ONLINE) Programmes leading to the award of Higher National Diploma (HND) qualification for Programmes in the following Schools:

SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY:

Departments: Mass Communication and Library & Information Science.

SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES:

Departments:  Accountancy, Business Administration and Management, Public Administration and Marketing.

SCHOOL OF PURE AND APPLIED SCIENCES:

Departments:  Computer Science and Science & Laboratory Technology.

SCHOOL OF ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES:

Departments:  Quantity Surveying 

Duration of all Programmes:  6 Semesters in 24 Calendar Months.

4.0 HND (FULL-TIME) AND HND OPEN DISTANCE AND FLEXIBLE E-LEARNING (ODFEL) ENTRY     REQUIREMENTS

Applicants seeking HND Admission must possess:

4.1      GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

(i.) National Diploma not below Lower Credit (with CGPA not less than 2.50) and basic requirements for the National Diploma Programme in the applicant’s discipline;

(ii) Possession of the specific SSSCE requirements i.e. WAEC/NECO/NABTEB/GCE O’Level for the programme for which the candidate is applying.

(iii) Good performance in the Screening exercise to be conducted by the Polytechnic.

(iv) Minimum of One Calendar Year Post National Diploma relevant Industrial Experience.

(v)  Candidate’s National Diploma academic transcript should be sent by the ND awarding Institution for Candidates who did not finish from The Federal Polytechnic Ilaro under Confidential Cover to: The Registrar, The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro. ADMITTED CANDIDATES SHALL NOT BE REGISTERED BEFORE THE RECEIPT OF ND ACADEMIC TRANSCRIPT

PART D

5.0 NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) PART-TIME PROGRAMMES 2023/2024 SESSION      

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro for Part-Time Programmes leading to the award of National Diploma (ND) qualification for Programmes in the following Schools:

5.1 SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY:

Departments: Mass Communication & Office Technology and Management (Secretarial Studies),

5.2 SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING:

Departments: Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

5.3 SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES:

Departments:  Accountancy, Banking and Finance, Business Administration and Management, Insurance, Marketing, Public Administration and Taxation.

5.4 SCHOOL OF PURE AND APPLIED SCIENCES:

Departments:  Computer Science and Science Laboratory Technology.               

Duration of all Programmes:  6 Semesters in 24 Calendar Months.   

PART E

6.0 NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) OPEN DISTANCE & FLEXIBLE E-LEARNING (ODFEL) PROGRAMMES 2023/2024 SESSION             

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro for the Open Distance and Flexible E-Learning (ONLINE) Programme leading to the award of National Diploma (ND) qualification for Programmes in the following Schools:

6.1 SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY:

Departments:  Mass Communication and Library & Information Science.

6.2 SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES:

Departments:  Accountancy, Business Administration and Management, Marketing and Public Administration.

6.3 SCHOOL OF PURE AND APPLIED SCIENCES:

Departments:  Computer Science and Science & Laboratory Technology.

6.4 SCHOOL OF ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES:

Department:  Quantity Surveying

Duration of all Programmes:  6 Semesters in 24 Calendar Months.

7.0 ND (PART- TIME) AND ND OPEN DISTANCE AND FLEXIBLE E-LEARNING (ODFEL) ENTRY     REQUIREMENTS

7.1 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Minimum of Five (5) credits (including English Language and Mathematics) and three others obtained in relevant subjects at not more than two sittings.
  2. Candidates awaiting the results of just concluded examinations can apply, but they must Upload such results before they can be admitted.
  3. All ND PART-TIME AND OPEN DISTANCE AND FLEXIBLE E-LEARNING (ODFEL) APPLICANTS MUST visit the JAMB Office to apply and fill JAMB Part-Time/Distance Learning Application Form.

8.0 ENTRANCE EXAMINATION FOR HND FULL-TIME, ND PART-TIME AND OPEN DISTANCE & FLEXIBLE E-LEARNING PROGRAMMES

Entrance Examination dates for ALL Programmes (HND Full-Time and ND Part-Time) and Open Distance and Flexible E-Learning Programmes will be announced later on the Institution’s Website and via the applicant’s personal email addresses.

9.0 METHOD OF APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION

Candidates seeking admission into The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro are required to complete the Institution’s Application Form available online at: http://federalpolyilaro.edu.ng/ with effect from Monday, 10th July, 2023. The closing date for the completion of the application form is Friday, 18th August, 2023

10.0 GENERAL INFORMATION FOR ALL HND AND ND PART-TIME PROGRAMMES

All candidates are expected to consult the Institution’s Prospectus on the Website or in hard copy to ascertain their qualifications for the Programmes for which they are applying.  Candidates should not register for Programmes for which they do not have the requirements.  The admission to The Federal Polytechnic Ilaro is provisional; ANYTIME it is discovered that a candidate registered for a Programme for which he/she is not qualified or a candidate is in violation of any of the procedures and rules thereof, the admission would be withdrawn.

PROCEDURES TO OBTAIN FORM

* To obtain the admission form, visit the Institution’s Website http://federalpolyilaro.edu.ng/  and click on the Portal

* On the Portal, click on Applicant, and then click on Generate Invoice.

* Take the invoice to any of the designated Banks for payment

*  Return to the Portal, Click on Applicant, then Click fill Application Form and fill the Form following

On-screen Instructions.

The Invoice and RRR must be obtained in the name of the Applicant; the Invoice must be generated from the Portal. The Invoice contains the RRR to be processed. The Institution shall not be liable for complications that may arise when RRR is generated and payment is processed without going through the Institutional Portal.

FOR THE AVOIDANCE OF DOUBT, ALL TRANSACTIONS MUST BE PROCESSED ON THE REMITA PLATFORM

PLEASE NOTE:

ALL CANDIDATES ARE EXPECTED TO UPLOAD (IN PDF FORMAT) CLEAR AND READABLE COPIES OF THEIR CREDENTIALS AND TESTIMONIALS/LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION. CANDIDATES WHOSE UPLOADED DOCUMENTS ARE NOT EASILY READABLE WOULD FORFEIT THEIR ADMISSIONS.

ALL ND PART-TIME AND ODFEL CANDIDATES MUST VISIT THE JAMB OFFICE TO APPLY AND FILL JAMB PART-TIME/DISTANCE LEARNING APPLICATION FORM. AS ONLY CANDIDATES WITH THE COMPLETED JAMB PART-TIME/DISTANCE LEARNING APPLICATION FORMS WOULD BE CONSIDERED FOR ADMISSION.

SCREENING EXAMINATION WILL BE ONLINE. ALL CANDIDATES ARE EXPECTED TO SUPPLY VALID PERSONAL PHONE NUMBERS AND EMAIL ADDRESSES ON THEIR FORMS.

THE INVOICE AND RRR MUST BE OBTAINED IN THE NAME OF THE APPLICANT; THE INVOICE MUST BE GENERATED FROM THE PORTAL. THE INVOICE CONTAINS THE RRR TO BE PROCESSED. THE INSTITUTION SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR COMPLICATIONS THAT MAY ARISE WHEN RRR IS GENERATED AND PAYMENT IS PROCESSED WITHOUT GOING THROUGH THE PORTAL.

ALL THE NAMES USED BY THE APPLICANTS MUST CORRESPOND WITH WHAT IS IN WAEC/NECO AND JAMB DOCUMENTS. ANY DEFERENTIAL IS NOT ACCEPTABLE FOR ADMISSION.
